Sensory area to officially open before Notts match

6 December 2018

Prior to this Saturday's big match against Notts County at One Call Stadium, the sensory area in our family room - built for those who are prone to experiencing a sensory overload - will be available to use for the first time by those who purchase a family ticket.

Family tickets cost just £18 and admit one adult and one child to the game, or £36 for two adults and two children.

Located in the corner of our new family room - which opened earlier this season - the sensory area is packed with features to ensure a matchday at One Call Stadium is enjoyable for all.

The club is hugely grateful for the £6,000 donation from the Stags Supporters' Association, who have made this possible. The SSA will officially open the new sensory area at 11.30am on Saturday.

The sensory area has been installed with the following features:

  • A multi-infinity explorer panel, which produces lights and music that can be controlled and changed.
  • Sensory bubble tubes, with mirrors behind to create the sense that there are more than two.
  • Vibration bumpers across the back wall, which vibrate when leaned upon.
  • Sensory football, which has a different texture to a regular football.

Supporters' liaison officer Danielle Hett said: "We have installed this sensory area as there are children who require it when the game can get too much.

"Sometimes they need a little bit of relaxing time before they go out to the stands, which can be quite noisy.

"The main thing is that everyone enjoys a matchday, and people don't have to stay at home in fear of a sensory overload."

"They can also come back in and use it throughout the match, and use the sensory area if the atmosphere during the game gets too much.

"The main thing is that everyone enjoys a matchday, and people don't have to stay at home in fear of a sensory overload."

Also in our family room before the big match, we will host a Christmas workshop where our young Stags will make Christmas decorations and play in the snow produced by our snow machine!

Family tickets are available to purchase for just £18 either in advance or on a matchday from the ticket office on Quarry Lane, with the game kicking off at 1.00pm at One Call Stadium.

Supporters with a family ticket will be seated in either Block A or Block B of the Quarry Lane End (Block B only if demand dictates so), which is this season's designated family zone!

The family room is located underneath Blocks A and B of the Quarry Lane Stand, and will be used for indoor activities and games before each home match. The room will open at 11.30am this Saturday, when the Stags' Supporters Association unveil our new sensory area.

Our family room will also have free fruit on offer for all of our mini Stags, which is the case for every home matchday.

Plus, at every home game, youngsters will receive a voucher with every family ticket, which can be redeemed at Kiosk 2 in exchange for a confectionery item from Sally's lucky dip box!

*Children are classed as 17 and under*
