Match preview: Tranmere Rovers vs Stags

21 August 2018

Stags travel down to Prenton Park on Tuesday evening to face Tranmere Rovers for a 7.45pm kick-off. Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Centre-back Matt Preston is again set to miss the game following concussion sustained in our 2-2 draw at Yeovil ten days ago.

Defensive duo David Mirfin and Zander Diamond will miss out as they continue their recoveries from long-term knee and back injuries, respectively.

Tranmere will be without midfielder Jay Harris following his straight red card in their 3-2 loss to Swindon on Saturday.

Defender Zoumana Bakayogo could also miss out with a calf injury, with Ritchie Sutton also out through injury as he awaits scan results on a suspected broken leg.

The last time we faced Tranmere was back in April 2015 in a 1-0 win at One Call Stadium. Reggie Lambe scored the game's only goal in the 44th minute.

Stags conceded a 95th minute equaliser in their most recent clash against Colchester United at One Call Stadium, but still remain unbeaten this season.

Tranmere have won one of their last five matches, with their most recent game ending in a 3-2 defeat away to Swindon Town, despite taking an initial 2-0 lead.
