Carabao Cup second round draw tonight

16 August 2018

The Carabao Cup Round Two draw will take place live on Sky Sports from the Stadium of Light on Thursday 16 August, ahead of Sunderland’s Round One clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

Pundits Mick McCarthy and Chris Waddle will conduct the draw live on the programme from 7pm with presenter David Prutton overseeing proceedings.

The Round Two draw sees the inclusion of the 13 Premier League Clubs who are not competing in European competitions alongside Sky Bet Championship sides Stoke City and Swansea City. The draw is unseeded but will be regionalised into North and South sections. The remaining seven Premier League Clubs will enter the competition in Round Three.

Stags created history last night with a 6-1 victory over Accrington Stanley - our highest record victory in the League Cup competition - beating the 6-2 win over Chesterfield on 19 August 1970.

Deadly marksman Tyler Walker became only the third Stags' player to score a hat trick in the League Cup; the other two were Malcolm Partridge in a 6-2 win over Chesterfield and Iyseden Christie in a 4-3 home win over Stockport County on 12 August 1997.

The Stags will be ball number 15 in tomorrow's draw.
