Mansfield Town are offering an exciting opportunity for young players to join their successful academy programme at Brooksby Melton College, Leicestershire, under the management of former Stags' midfielder Jamie McGuire.
If you will be leaving school this year and have an interest in full-time football and education in a professional environment, then this might just be the course for you!
Due to the high level of applicants expected, the course has limited spaces so the earlier you apply the better. Applicants will be selected for the group upon GCSE grades and experience.
Upon entry to the course, you will study a BTEC level 3 in sport excellence, whilst coached by professional A License coaches for eight hours a week.
Jamie McGuire, former Stags' midfielder and now academy coach, said: “This course gives you a chance to join a group and develop your performance in football.
“We have a great partnership with Brooksby Melton College, you’ll come here and get quality coaching.
“We have a very successful youth team and development team, and the U21s have just won their league, so the academy is booming at the moment.
“Lewis Gibbens is a fine example of what you can achieve in the performance group.
“He came up through the group, worked really hard on his football and in the gym, and now he’s just earned himself a two-year professional contract, so that’s what the group can do.
“No matter what you’ll get quality coaching and a BTEC level 3 out of the course.”
