Double delight for flying wideman

2 November 2017

Fleet-footed winger CJ Hamilton has picked up his second award of the day after supporters voted his strike against Notts County as their Goal of the Month.

The wideman struck the winner – and his first goal for the club – 17 minutes from time to secure a 2-1 win against the Magpies in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Hamilton had been voted as the club's Player of the Month for October in an online poll.

Hamilton's right-footed effort beat off competition from five other strikes in the monthly competition, including two goals apiece from strikers Kane Hemmings and Danny Rose and a left-footed effort from frontman Lee Angol.

Former Sheffield United youngster Hamilton chested the ball down in the box before rifling a right-footed half-volley into the roof of the net and his strike received 72 percent of the vote, ahead of Kane Hemmings' strike against Exeter, which came second with 18 percent.

Thank you to everyone who voted.
