Match preview: Alfreton Town vs Stags

28 July 2017

Mansfield Town travel to the Impact Arena to face Alfreton Town on Saturday (3.00pm kick-off) and this is your comprehensive guide to the fixture.

The entire first team squad will be travelling to Derbyshire for Saturday's match.

Manager Steve Evans previously mentioned an XI playing the first hour, with another XI taking over for the final 30 minutes.

The only absentee is winger Alex MacDonald, who is recovering from knee surgery.

Meanwhile, Alfreton made goalkeeper Chris Elliott their 16th and final signing last week, with the shot-stopper penning a deal from Harrogate Town.

Stags have enjoyed a thorough workout in this week's pre-season fixtures, recording 4-0 victories over Matlock Town and Gainsborough Trinity, respectively.

Two separate Stags' XIs travelled to both games, with all 22 players completing 90 minutes.

Goals from midfielders Will Atkinson and Jacob Mellis and a brace from striker Lee Angol fired the Stags to victory over Matlock, whilst an Omari Sterling-James double and strikes from CJ Hamilton and Alfie Potter secured Stags' victory against Gainsborough.

Alfreton have taken part in two pre-season friendlies this week, which both ended in defeat.

They welcomed Premier League side Burnley to the Impact Arena on Saturday, which ended in a 3-2 defeat following a hat-trick from frontman Andre Gray.

A weakened Reds' side were then defeated 5-1 by a young Notts County side in midweek.

The match will be a pay-on-the-day fixture and prices are as follows:

Adults: £10
Concessions: £5

Away supporters are required to gain entry via the Alma Street entrance.

The address of the venue is as follows:

The Impact Arena, Alfreton, DE55 7FZ

Parking is limited around the ground, therefore street parking is advised.

The closest spot for a pre-match drink is Bluey's Aussie Bar and Steakhouse, located around a five-minute walk away on Nottingham Road. This will be open from 12noon.

Meanwhile, Alfreton will be serving the usual football match food and drinks from their refreshment kiosks inside the ground.
