Stags' boss Steve Evans has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award, whilst midfielder Ben Whiteman is up for the Player of the Month gong.
We have picked up 13 points from a possible 15 during January in Sky Bet League Two, and we were only denied maximum points by a 0-0 draw away to Notts County.ÂAt the centre of our unbeaten run has been loanee Ben Whiteman, who has excelled in the Stags' midfield since joining on loan from Sheffield United at the beginning of the transfer window.Â
The 20-year-old scored two goals during January, the first was in the comprehensive 3-0 victory over Crewe, before he scored the opening goal against Leyton Orient in our last match of the month.Â
The gaffer is up against Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson, Grimsby manager Marcus Bignot and Exeter City chief Paul Tisdale for the monthly award.Â
Meanwhile, midfielder Whiteman is facing Doncaster striker John Marquis, Exeter attacker Ollie Watkins and veteran Morecambe 'keeper Barry Roche in the race for the Player of the Month prize.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
