For Crewe, left-back Zoumana Bakayogo is a doubt with a knee problem.
Stags have enjoyed a productive pre-season which has provided boss Steve Evans' new look squad with plenty of minutes to get under their belt.
They have faced an array of diverse opposition, ranging from a Malta Players Association XI to Premier League hopefuls Middlesbrough, all of whom provided Stags with different tests.
Stags have won five, drawn one and lost two of their pre-season fixtures - the two defeats coming against Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.
Crewe have won three, drawn two and lost one of their pre-season fixtures.
Their most recent match was a 3-1 victory over a Stoke City XI, which followed a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Macclesfield Town.
Our last meeting with The Alex ended in a 3-0 victory for the Stags in January 2017.
Stags took the lead in the fifth minute thanks to a striker from frontman Yoann Arquin, before loanee Ben Whiteman doubled the Stags' advantage just after half-time.
An emphatic win was then sealed in the 83rd minute when defender Rhys Bennett converted from close range.
HEAD-TO-HEAD record: W: 29 | D: 16 | L: 30
The referee for the fixture will be Graham Salisbury and he will be assisted by Ken Haycock and Lee Freeman. Richard Wild will be the fourth official.
Mr Salisbury's last match in charge of the Stags was our 1-0 victory away to Stevenage last season.
