Stags deliver Easter eggs to local hospice

10 April 2017

Mansfield Town players helped spread Easter joy today by visiting patients at John Eastwood Hospice in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The visit was made this afternoon by defenders George Taft and Rhys Bennett, along with midfielder Jamie McGuire, winger CJ Hamilton and frontmen Yoann Arquin and Matt Green.

After handing out Easter eggs, players spent time chatting with patients and staff, signing autographs and posing for photo's.

Diane Humphreys, trust manager at John Eastwood Hospice, praised the players for their generosity of spirit.

"They're very friendly lads and have created a really good atmosphere," said Diane. "The staff have looked forward to the visit and it's been a great boost to us."

Defender Rhys Bennett said: "This has given us an opportunity to give something back to the community and bring some joy to people who may be missing it over the Easter period."

Striker Matt Green added: "We've tried to put smiles on faces, doing our bit as a team and club. Hopefully our visit has made the day a little brighter to the people who we met."

The club would like to thank Booker who donated the Easter eggs.
