Frontman named Player of the Month

5 April 2017

Stags' fans have voted striker Danny Rose as their Player of the Month for March in a poll which has taken place on the Stags Wall over the last week.

Stags won two, lost two and drew one during March and former Bury frontman Rose was pivotal in Stags picking up crucial points in their play-off hunt.

The Barnsley-born man came off the bench against Colchester and although Stags slipped to a 2-0 defeat, Rose helped to change the game and put the U's defence under severe pressure throughout the second half.

He was then rewarded with starts in Stags' back-to-back wins against Carlisle United and Morecambe. Rose played magnificently against Carlisle, contributing hugely to a 2-0 win, before bagging a brace in the 3-1 victory over Morecambe a week later.

Rose picked up 35 percent of the votes in the poll, beating striker Matt Green in second, who got 20 percent, and Ben Whiteman, who came third with 14 percent of the vote.

Green and Whiteman both scored a goal apiece during March, in the wins over Carlisle United and Morecambe, respectively.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the poll on the Stags Wall.
