Youngsters aiming for fifth consecutive league win

21 September 2016

Mansfield Town's under 18s have the opportunity to record their fifth consecutive EFL Youth Alliance win on Saturday.

The youngsters will welcome Bradford City's under 18s to Kirklington Road on Saturday afternoon (12pm kick-off) as they look to extend their fantastic start to the season.

John Dempster's side secured a comprehensive 3-1 victory away at Grimsby Town last weekend thanks to a brace from striker Zayn Hakeem and a goal from frontman Ashanti Pryce as Stags put in an encouraging attacking display.

Prior to the previous week's 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town in the EFLYA Cup, Stags hammered Burton Albion 6-0 to secure their position at the top of the league and they built on that platform by defeating Grimsby last week.

Opponents Bradford currently sit ninth in the EFLYA North East division with a disappointing six points from their opening five games.

They recorded their second win of the season last week with a 3-2 victory over Lincoln City to add to their 5-1 demolition of Grimsby Town.

Despite those high-scoring victories, the Bantams have been on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to York City, a 5-2 loss against Burton Albion and a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Chesterfield.

Stags will go in to the game in high spirits thanks to the good form of a number of attacking players. Forwards Hakeem and Pryce have been regularly amongst the goals this season, whilst attacking midfielders Tom Marriott and Alistair Smith have been superb in support of the frontmen.

Supporters wishing to attend the match can do so, and the address is as follows:
