Versatile midfielder commits to Stags

13 May 2016

Stags' midfielder Mitchell Rose has signed a new contract with the club, we are pleased to announce.

Manager Adam Murray has rewarded the Doncaster-born man with a new deal following a productive season for the club in which he's made 37 appearances in all competitions.

Formerly of Rotherham United and Crawley Town, Rose signed for the Stags following a successful trial period last summer.

The 21-year-old showed his versatility in a Stags' shirt during the 2015/16 campaign after putting in energetic displays in midfield, as well as at right-back.

Upon signing, Rose reflected on the 2015-16 season, in which the Stags finished 12th in Sky Bet League 2.

"I am pleased, personally, with last season.  At the start of the season I didn't think I would make as many first team appearances as I did in a team with as much strength in depth as we had.

"I was a little disappointed for us not to be able to finish in the play-offs but there were many positives for us and things that we can take into next season."

The deal will run from 01 July 2016 and is subject to Football League approval.
