Stags united as final respects are paid to former winger

11 March 2016

Management, staff, players and fans broke into a round of applause on Quarry Lane this afternoon as the hearse carrying the body of Johnny Miller paused outside One Call Stadium.

The funeral cortege stopped briefly to allow final respects to be paid to the former winger, who died recently aged 65.

Johnny appeared more than 100 times for us between 1976 and 1980. He was part of the Third Division title winning team in 1976-77.

Writing on his facebook account, chairman John Radford commented: "Rest in Peace, John Miller, part of the most successful team in our history."
