We are on the verge of signing two new players, manager Adam Murray revealed at a news conference today.
After securing the services of defenders Rhys Bennett and George Taft as well as wingers CJ Hamilton, Ashley Hemmings and frontman Danny Rose, Murray looks set to announce two new signings soon.
Speaking at a news conference earlier today at One Call Stadium, Murray told the local media: “I’ve done one [agreed a deal with a new player], but I can’t unveil it yet because he is still away on holiday. I am 99% on another one."
On the player who is on holiday, Murray said: “If I am going to be completely honest with you I completed it at 4am this morning so I am a little bit tired!
"Because he is away we do need to get it tied up so that will probably be done by the end of this week.
"I think the fans will be happy with them [the two new prospective signings]. They'll make us stronger again. They'll add to us and give us a little bit of winning know-how and experience.
“We have brought a high calibre of player into the club again and we’re chuffed to bits about that. Realistically I think that will be us done [in terms of signings].
"We are going to go with a small squad again, but one which has lots of options all over the pitch in terms of what we can do. We’re 'over the moon' with the other ones we have already got in the building and the two that we have done now."
With the gaffer set to make a double swoop on the field, he is close to announcing the identity of a first team coach and U21s' manager to further boost the club's infrastructure.
On the new U21s appointment, Murray said: "It will be a big one for us because the guy that we have got is very good at what he does and he has a very good background in what he does.
“I have made my decision and that will be announced this week. We have just got to get the paper work done with him. Everything is moving forward and the under 21s group is another step forward.”
