Boss hopes for good support at Clipstone & Carlton

8 July 2016

Our manager Adam Murray has encouraged supporters to attend both of the Stags' matches against local non-league sides Clipstone and Carlton Town this Saturday, 09 July.

Two different Stags' teams will travel to the Worksop Van Hire Stadium and The Bill Stokeld Stadium as we continue our pre-season schedule following our 2-0 victory over Rainworth Miners Welfare last weekend.

And although the manager hasn't yet finalised which players will be travelling to which fixture, the Stags' chief would like as many fans as possible to attend both fixtures.

"Obviously we want to try and let our fans know what strength the teams are going to be at both games, we don’t want people wasting their time," said Murray.

"But obviously if you’ve got a free Saturday try and get to both because what we’re going to try and do is split the first team players into both games.

"For exact personnel who’s going to the exact games, I’m not 100 percent sure yet. We’ll look at the lads’ ‘loads’ that they’ve had over the last nine days and see what game will suit what players so we’re going to try and balance it out as much as we can, but like I say, if you’ve got a spare day – get to both."

Murray also revealed that he has been impressed by the players' work ethic during pre-season training and he currently has no injury worries.

"Everyone’s trained this week, we’ve had a real good week this week.

"[The] intensity’s gone up, the volume of training’s gone up, we’ve been on triple sessions this week. [The] first one [has been] starting at 9 o’clock in the morning and the boys have been putting in a good shift so everyone’s trained and nobody’s missed anything this week, so we’re in good shape."

The match against Clipstone will kick off at 12pm at The Worksop Van Hire Stadium, whilst the Carlton clash will get underway at 4pm at The Bill Stokeld Stadium.

Alternatively, supporters can take advantage of the Beer, Cider and Sausage Festival which will be taking place at Carlton Town from 12pm on Saturday.

Nottingham Brewery Sausages have revealed that tomato and basil, apple and herb, lamb and mint and Toulouse sausages will be amongst the range of sausages available to try on the day, as well as an array of real ales and ciders, produced in the local area.

The address for supporters wishing to attend the match against Clipstone (12pm kick-off) is as follows:

The Worksop Van Hire Stadium,
Clipstone,

Admission prices for the fixture are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, whilst those aged six and under will be permitted free of charge. Payment can be made in cash via the turnstiles at The Worksop Van Hire Stadium.

Supporters are advised to arrive early as long queues are expected.

Parking spaces are available in the club car park, however these are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If the car park becomes full, supporters will be required to park their vehicles on the side of the road, outside the ground.

A BBQ will be available from 11am, serving a range of different snacks and drinks.

Following the conclusion of the match in Clipstone, the club's attention will turn to Carlton Town, where the second game of the day will begin.

The address for our match against Carlton (4pm kick-off) is as follows:

The Bill Stokeld Stadium

Supporters can enjoy the Beer, Cider and Sausage Festival from 12pm on Saturday and entry is FREE for everyone, before 2.30pm and after 5pm.

During the hours of 2.30pm and 5pm, admission prices are as follows: £6 adults, £4 concessions, £2 children.

Car parking is available at the ground, both in their main car park and the overflow, which are both FREE of charge.

If the car parks become full, supporters can park their vehicles on Emerys Road, which is just off Stoke Lane. Please note, there is a 'bus plug' from one end of Emerys Road, so access can only be gained from the Burton Road end.
