Under 18s to face Bantams on Saturday

18 February 2016

Mansfield Town’s table-topping under 18s will be looking for their third straight win when they host Bradford City on Saturday (12pm kick-off).

John Dempster’s side didn’t have a match last weekend so they’ll be fresh for the visit of the Bantams as they aim to complete a league double over their Yorkshire counterparts.

Fifth-placed Bradford will be keen for revenge though, and they have the opportunity to close the gap between the sides to two points.

Victories over Scunthorpe United and York City have seen our youngsters reach the summit with 15 games played in the league.

The slender win over the Minstermen less than a fortnight ago came thanks to a first-half Tom Marriott penalty, despite a spirited performance from the North Yorkshire outfit.

In the last encounter between the two sides, the Stags ended Bradford’s five-game winning run courtesy of a brace from Alistair Smith and another goal by Surafel Behailu.

Dempster’s men will have to keep an eye on Bantams’ attacker Reece Webb-Foster, who scored an impressive 12 goals in six matches before the teams last met. However, on that occasion in September, Mansfield remained tight at the back to ensure the frontman couldn’t get on the scoresheet.

The venue for the match is as follows and entry is free for all:
Clipstone FC
The Worksop Van Hire Stadium,
Clipstone,
Mansfield,
Nottinghamshire
NG21 9DP
