Ladies face Arnold at One Call Stadium

9 February 2016

Mansfield Town Ladies take on second-bottom Arnold Town on Wednesday at One Call Stadium as they look to move closer to the league’s summit (7.30pm kick-off).

Lewis Saxby’s side will be fresh after having no match at the weekend, and they will be hoping second-placed Bedworth United slip up at Ellistown so they can take advantage.

The Stagettes were ruthlessly triumphant in their last outing, winning 9-2 against Grimsby Borough. Androulla Kokkinou scored four, Abbey Hawkins grabbed a brace and Jessica Machin, Jemma Douglas and Sarah Chapman netted one each to ensure the thrashing at Kirklington Road.

It was Chapman that received the Player of the Match award, and she’ll be aiming to be on top form again to triumph over Wednesday night’s visitors.

Arnold were in action at the weekend, and came out 3-0 winners against Ellistown, with goals from Chloe Jordan, Natasha Leach and Janine Willows.

The ninth-placed outfit have endured a mixed bag of form ahead on the match in midweek, as they’ve only won once in the league in 2016. A win could move them as high as sixth.

A victory for the Stagettes will be the perfect tonic as they look to begin a run that could hopefully see them rise two places and beat Long Eaton United Ladies to the title.

Entry to the match is FREE and admission can be gained via the gate at the side of the Ian Greaves Stand, closest to the Quarry Lane End.
