Stags’ midfielder Chris Clements has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for January.
Clements has been an ever present in Adam Murray’s midfield during a month in which they’ve picked up nine points from a possible 18.
The midfielder scored two fantastic free-kicks at the start of January – a consolation goal in the 3-2 defeat to Accrington Stanley before a wonderful opener in the 2-1 victory over Stevenage a week later.
The former Hednesford man then bundled in the equaliser in the dramatic 2-1 win over Morecambe at the Globe Arena before striker Adi Yussuf struck late in the game to secure the three points.
Clements will be competing against Northampton winger Ricky Holmes, Morecambe striker Shaun Miller and Oxford United defender Jake Wright for the award.
The winner of the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award will be announced on Friday 05 February.
