One of the most flamboyant and charismatic managers in British footballing history will visit One Call Stadium later this year.
An Evening with Ron Atkinson will take place on Friday 07 October at 7pm in the 1861 Suite at One Call Stadium.
With tickets priced at just £35 per person or £340 for a table of ten, ‘Big Ron’ will entertain the audience with stories from his 60 years in football as well as answering questions from guests on the evening.
The former Manchester United manager will be joined on the night by a special guest comedian and all attendees will receive a meal in the 1861 Suite.
Widely regarded as one of the most charismatic managers of all time, Big Ron has enjoyed an illustrious management career with 11 different clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and many more before working in the media.
As a player, Atkinson made over 350 appearances for Oxford United before retiring at the age of 32 and taking up his first management post at Kettering Town in the same year.
Atkinson’s final managerial role was a four-month spell with Nottingham Forest in 1999. Taking over in January of that year, Forest’s relegation was confirmed on 24 April after a 2-0 defeat to his former club Aston Villa, and Atkinson tendered his resignation just hours after the final whistle.
The Liverpool-born man then became a more regular commentator on ITV, something which he’d started whilst still in management, and formed an in-depth commentary team with Clive Tyldesley on the channel’s Champions League coverage.
Big Ron currently works as a pundit on MUTV, Manchester United’s in-house television station.
