John Dempster’s youth side face local rivals Chesterfield on Saturday morning (11am) in their second EFL Youth Alliance match of the season.
After our youth team battled out an encouraging 0-0 draw against Oldham Athletic on the opening day, they now turn their attentions to the visit of the Spireites.
Coach John Dempster believes his side ‘has a score to settle’ after being defeated by the Derbyshire side last season in what he says was ‘one of their poorer’ performances during their title-winning campaign.
Despite only picking up a point from their opening day clash against the Latics, there were some positives to take out of the game.
New boys Ashanti Pryce, Henri Wilder and Aiden Walker slotted in to the side with ease, whilst the existing players such as midfielder Cain Smith and defender Morgan Ratcliffe produced assured performances as they seemed to carry on their form from last season.
The match will take place at Rainworth Miners Welfare and the address is as follows:
Rainworth Miners Welfare FC
Admission prices for the fixture are £2.
