Scoreboard update

12 August 2016

Technical hitches have delayed the completion of our new scoreboard, the club can reveal today.

The giant LED scoreboard, purchased from Wembley, is currently being tested at One Call Stadium, with technical snags preventing its launch.

Stadium director Paul Broughton and his team have been working tirelessly on the project and are in the final stages of the operation.

“Although no completion date was given, we had previously stated that we hoped the scoreboard would be ready for the first home league game of the season,” said Mr Broughton.

“We could have spent a further £20,000 to £25,000 to hire a firm to sort out the software issues which we’re experiencing, but we decided against paying such a large sum.

“We have someone who is working on the software for us in a limited space of time, but these things are never quite as easy as they look!

“There are two individual screens part of the overall scoreboard which are causing the issues,” Mr Broughton explained.

“We would have loved for it to be ready for tomorrow, as we know how excited everyone is in seeing it.

"We will continue to work hard towards its completion and remove the small hitches.”

The club will update supporters when further developments are made.
