Ladies looking to string back-to-back wins together

15 April 2016

Mansfield Town Ladies will be hoping to build on their win against Rise Park last week when they face Kettering Town Women at One Call Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

Lewis Saxby’s side were in lethal form last week to brush Rise Park aside on their travels, with a 3-1 victory in Arnold.

Winger Monica Bowley, midfielder Georgie Herring and forward Marie Wayne grabbed the goals for the Stagettes, despite Katie Prendergast bagging one at the other end for the hosts.

Mansfield are third-placed in the East Midlands Women’s Premier League with 34 points from 16 games, whilst this weekend’s opponents are eighth with 14 points from 11 matches.

In the last meeting between the two sides, Saxby’s outfit suffered a rare defeat thanks to an excellent display from Player of the Match Laura Beckett, who scored four goals, although Emma Allen and Jess Machin got on the scoresheet for the Stagettes in the 4-2 defeat.

The Stagettes will be hoping a win in this game will help them to secure second position in the league, with Bedworth United their main competition.

Supporters are reminded that entry into the game is FREE, whilst the Sandy Pate Sports Bar remains open throughout the day.

The bar will be open to serve drinks between midday and 9pm, whilst food will be served from noon until 7pm.

Parking is completely FREE for everyone behind the Ian Greaves Stand, and your backing for our Ladies’ team would be greatly appreciated.
