Ladies aiming for strong end to the season

5 April 2016

Mansfield Town Ladies will be hoping to climb back into second position in the East Midlands Womens' Regional Football League when they travel to face Rise Park on Thursday evening (7.45pm kick-off).

After dropping a place to third in the week following the 4-2 defeat to Kettering Town, the Stagettes will be aiming to get back to winning ways against the side three places below them in the division.

Midfielders Emma Allen and Jess Machin got on the scoresheet for Lewis Saxby’s outfit in their last game against Kettering, but the hosts got the victory thanks to four goals from the clinical Laura Beckett.

Rise Park were in action last Sunday but were edged out by Notts County Development courtesy of a goal from Shaniqua Barnes.

Mansfield are currently in third-place with 31 points from 15 matches, whilst their upcoming opponents are in sixth position with 15 points after playing 12 times in the current campaign, winning five and losing seven.

With no other scheduled game on Thursday, it is the ideal time for Saxby’s team to reclaim second spot in the league and end the season in fine form with their final batch of fixtures.

The address for the game is as follows:

Oxton Road,
Arnold,
Nottingham,
Notts
NG5 8PS
