SSA buy new fan for £10k!

25 September 2015

Stags Supporters Association, the club’s official supporters’ club, have purchased an extractor fan for our soon-to-be-opened 1861 suite, the club is grateful to announce.

The piece of equipment is a much-needed appliance in our new 1861 suite, named in honour of the world’s oldest professional football ground, One Call Stadium.

The suite is set to be opened next Friday for tribute act Noasis, the nation’s number one tribute act of the popular rock band.

Dean Foulkes, Chairman of the Stags Supporters Association (SSA), said in a statement: “Following the SSA’s purchase of a tractor for the club last season, the SSA Committee have recently agreed to a request from the club via directors Tina & Paul Broughton for £10,000 which will purchase a further piece of essential equipment for the club.

“The club have identified an extractor fan as the most urgent essential requirement, with SSA also investigating other requests.

“Following a recent meeting SSA were impressed with the extensive improvement work taking place within the Ian Greaves Stand and the club’s major plans for the continued upgrading, growing and expansion of the commercial business.”

Operations director Tina Broughton said: “The club enjoys a superb relationship with the Stags Supporters Association and is hugely grateful for this latest donation.

“The board of directors would like to thank Dean, the SSA committee and its members for their hard work in generating the funds which has enabled the purchase of this extractor fan."

Mr Foulkes added: “SSA are also looking forward to the installation of the new electronic scoreboard and the return of the popular “Evening With” events which help bring fans and club staff closer together.

“In addition to the many varied events the club are now hosting practically every night of the week SSA are also excited to announce the launch of the 2015 Children’s Halloween and Christmas Parties, which again are being hosted by the club's Football in the Community department and are funded by the SSA at £600 per party.

“Junior Members of the SSA can now book their completely free place on the Halloween Party which is being held on Friday 30th October by ringing 07977 428147.

"SSA would like to especially thank all Amber members who allow SSA to help owner John Radford by continually making such a positive financial contribution to our club.

“If you want to join the hundreds of SSA members already enrolled in SSA for Season 15/16 email info@thessa.org for more information.
