Stagettes sign off with a win

10 May 2015

Ladies thrash FC Reedswood, but it could be too little, too late.

Our ladies team recorded an emphatic 5-2 victory over FC Reedswood in their final game of the FA Women’s Premier League (Midland Division One) season, but it could be too late to save them from relegation.

That’s because relegation rivals Steel City Wanderers recorded a surprise 2-1 win away at Leicester City Ladies, which leaves the Stagettes in the bottom two positions.

As a result, our ladies team will only avoid the drop if FC Reedswood win by a 14-goal margin in their clash with Steel City Wanderers.

Nevertheless, the Stagettes can be proud of their efforts in their final game of the campaign, as their determined attitude meant they were worthy winners. Rachel Mullen (2), Jemma Douglas, Lucy Webster and Kirsty Walton were on the score-sheet.
