Young Stags ready for busy week

17 March 2015

Three matches this week for youngsters across the divisions.

Our youth team and development squad are preparing for a busy couple of days as they have a home ‘double header’ this week followed by a home game in the Football League Youth Alliance on Saturday.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 18 March), mid-table Peterborough United are the opponents in the Football Conference Youth Alliance (Midland Division).

The Stags have slipped out of title contention over the past few weeks, but they will still be keen to put in a stellar performance and get back to winning ways.

This game will be played at Kirklington Road, Rainworth. Kick-Off is at the slightly earlier time of 12.30pm.

On Thursday (19 March), attention shifts to the H-K-L North Midlands League with struggling Southwell City the opponents.

In January, the Stags beat Southwell, 2-0, and will want a repeat result as the season enters its final few matches.

This game will be played at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium, Clipstone, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm.

On Saturday (21 March), the FLYA (North/East Division) takes centre stage as Burton Albion make the short trip to North Nottinghamshire.

The Stags beat the Brewers’ youngsters, 6-1, in the reverse meeting earlier this season, but a much closer game is expected this time around.

This game will be played at Stoke Lane, Carlton Town F.C. Kick-Off is at 11.00am.
