Rainworth friendly on Saturday

3 July 2015

Strong squad set to head to Kirklington Road this weekend.

Our pre-season campaign finally gets underway this Saturday as our new-look team head face Rainworth Miners Welfare in the annual Green Energy Challenge Trophy clash.

The competition is now in its third year and both teams have won the competition once apiece.

In 2013, the Stags triumphed 4-0 at Kirklington Road with goals from Ben Hutchinson (2), Ross Dyer and Jordan Ball, but the Wrens beat a youthful team last year to clinch the trophy for the first time.

Should it be needed, there may even be a penalty shoot-out.

Amongst players who could feature for our team are goalkeepers Scott Shearer and Brian Jensen (pictured) - both of whom joined the club last week.

The weather is expected to be bright and sunny, so Saturday’s game is one that shouldn’t be missed. Both clubs will fully appreciate your support at this game and you can catch all the action at Kirklington Road from 3.00pm.

Admission prices are as follows:

£6 Adults
£5 Concessions
£2 Under 16s

If you aren’t able to make it along to Kirklington Road, you can get minute-by-minute updates on the clash on our Twitter page (@MansfieldTownFC) and on Stags Wall by clicking here.
