Palmer heads to Grimsby on loan

5 January 2015

Striker Ollie Palmer has today joined Grimsby Town on loan for one month, subject to clearance by the Football Association, Football League and Football Conference.

The 22-year-old has been utilised mostly as a substitute this season and has joined the Mariners to gain valuable first team experience.

Grimsby sit in fourth position in the Vanarama Conference.

The loan deal includes the option for the Stags to recall Ollie to One Call Stadium with prior notice.

Boss Adam Murray told www.mansfieldtown.net: "Ollie has not really had a consistent run of games in the first team since he joined the club.

"This loan deal will allow him the opportunity to build up confidence and get into a goalscoring routine."

The manager added: "We're wheeling and dealing in this transfer window and an opportunity for players elsewhere opens up an opportunity for us to move things around here at this present time."
