Boston United beaten in FCYA (Midland Division) courtesy of goals by Punter, Hutchinson (pen) and L.Thomas.
Our youth team registered their seventh victory in eight games in the Football Conference Youth Alliance (Midland Division) with a 3-2 win away at Boston United this afternoon.
The Stags opened the scoring through Blaize Punter on 20 minutes and doubled their lead before the break, when Jack Hutchinson converted from the penalty spot after Max McLeod was fouled inside the area.
Boston reduced arrears shortly after the re-start, but substitutes Luke Thomas, who replaced Levi Walker, made it 3-1 with around 20 minutes remaining.
The Pilgrims scored again to set up a grandstand finale, but they were unable to beat birthday boy Sam Wilson for a third time, as the Stags recorded a deserved three points.
Amongst those to impress were David Jones, Elliot Holmes and Luca Gregory, who operated as a sweeper.
Team: Wilson, Holmes, Gregory, Punter, Walker (L.Thomas), Thomson, Hutchinson, McLeod (Dear), Saxton, Jones, Roome (Groves).
