Tonight: An Evening with Nicky Hunt

7 December 2015

Stags' skipper Nicky Hunt takes to the stage tonight as the next guest in our 'An Evening with' series.

Veteran defender Hunt will join our host, Mark Stevenson, for a night of Q&A in the Sandy Pate Sports Bar tonight (07 December) at 7.30pm.

Hunt began his career at boyhood club Bolton Wanderers and went on to make over 120 appearances for the Trotters, which included a spell in the Premier League.

The Bolton-born man made his Premier League debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford - the same match in which Cristiano Ronaldo made his bow for the Red Devils.

After Sam Allardyce left the Trotters for Newcastle, Hunt fell out of favour with his replacement Gary Megson and made the move away from the club, joining Birmingham City and Derby County on loan in 2008 and 2010, respectively.

After leaving Bolton for good, Hunt had spells at Bristol City, Preston North End and Rotherham before joining Accrington Stanley, initially on loan, in 2013.

He went on to make over 70 appearances for the Lancashire side and became a fans' favourite in the process.

It was announced in May 2015 that Hunt would be leaving the club before signing for Adam Murray's side in June.

Hunt was made captain by Murray for the season's curtain-raiser against Carlisle United and became an important part of the Stags' early season success.

After appearing 17 times for the Stags, Hunt picked up a hamstring injury in training prior to the match against Hartlepool United, ruling him out for 6-8 weeks.

Entry to An Evening with Nicky Hunt is free for all and there will the opportunity to win Stags' merchandise.

The Sandy Pate Sports Bar is located at the back of the Ian Greaves Stand with plenty of free parking.
