Stagettes looking to close gap at the top

18 December 2015

Mansfield Town Ladies will be looking to make it five wins out of six when they host Notts County in Sunday’s East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League clash.

The Stagettes’ home defeat to Long Eaton United is the only blotch on their otherwise pristine record since 25 October, with impressive league wins over Rise Park, Ellistown and Grimsby Borough and a 5-1 cup victory over Arnold Town two weeks ago.

They currently lie third in the table and trail the leaders by just two points.

The Magpies have been struggling for form over their past few games with only one win in four matches.

Back-to-back defeats against Long Eaton and Bedworth have hampered their quest to climb the table, but were victorious in their most recent fixture with a 2-0 away win at Arnold.

The game kicks off at 2pm at One Call Stadium.
