Our youth team continued their recent upturn in fortunes with a good 4-2 victory away at Peterborough United this afternoon.
Elliot Holmes got the Stags’ first goal with a sublime finish into the top corner on 25 minutes following a clever lay-off by Joe Bayne, before the lively Tino Chavundura added a second goal prior to half-time with Denham Saxton claiming the assist.
Dave Jones two more goals in the second half, whilst Cameron Dear was unfortunate not to get on the score-sheet. The midfielder found the target during a move which saw him brought down by the ‘keeper, but play was brought back and he hit the post from the subsequent spot-kick.
