Leicester City (Women) inflict another defeat on Stags’ ladies team.
Our ladies team endured another disappointing afternoon in the FA Women’s Premier League (Midland Division One) as they were consigned to a 2-0 defeat by Leicester City (Women) at One Call Stadium.
The visitors began brightly and after Fiona Worts had gone close, Becky Knight opened the scoring midway through the first half with a powerful shot which was too much for Stagettes’ custodian Emily Gascoyne.
The Stagettes pressed hard to get back in the game and had a couple of good spells of pressure, but Leicester doubled their lead in the latter stages of the second half thanks to a well-taken goal by debutant Alicia Schawrzenbach.
Our ladies team are next in action on Sunday 26 April, when they host Leafield Athletic (2.00pm).
