Ladies lose 3-0 to relegation rivals, but remain in strong position.
Our ladies team remain seven points above the relegation zone in the FA Women’s Premier League (Midland Division One), despite a 3-0 defeat away at Steel City Wanderers this afternoon.
The Stagettes, who currently have a long injury list, fell behind on the hour mark when Cheryl Mawhood steered a low shot past the dive of Emily Gascoyne.
Two goals in quick succession from Paige Unwin in the closing stages then put the game beyond doubt and gave the hosts a comfortable win.
Next up for the Stagettes is a home game against Leicester City (Women), which will take place at One Call Stadium on Sunday 19 April (2.00pm).
