Special 40th Anniversary Re-Union

22 April 2015

Several legends set to return for special re-union of our first ever title-winning campaign.

We are delighted to announce that many legends from our Division Four title-winning team of 1974/75 are set to return to One Call Stadium for a special Anniversary Evening this weekend.

Former players such as Kevin Bird, Colin Foster, Barry Foster, Mick Laverick, Paul Matthews, Terry Eccles and many more will be paraded around the pitch before our home going against Portsmouth on Saturday 25 April.

The players will once again led by manager Dave Smith, who has also confirmed his attendance for this special re-union.

Stadium Director Paul Broughton said: “We’ve been planning this for a while with Kevin Bird and his wife, Sue, as we wanted to commemorate the first ever time that Mansfield Town won a championship.

“Prior to the game in the afternoon, we’ll be parading the players around the pitch so that all supporters, young and old, can show their appreciation for these true Stags heroes.

“Afterwards, there will be ‘An Evening With’ style event during which they will be able to share memories of their phenomenal achievement. It promises to be a great occasion for everyone.”

Tickets for the Anniversary Evening are priced at £25 per person (including food). To book your place at this special re-union, either call 01623 482482 or e-mail sales@mansfieldtown.net.
