Sky Bet's midweek preview

14 April 2015

All the odds from the Football League's title sponsors.

Title odds: Burton Albion 4/6, Shrewsbury Town 11/10, Wycombe Wanderers 80/1, Bury 200/1. Promotion odds: Wycombe Wanderers 1/3, Bury 1/1, Southend United 11/8, Plymouth Argyle 5/1, Stevenage 5/1, Luton Town 16/1, Newport County 16/1, Exeter City 25/1, Northampton Town 150/1. Relegation odds: Cheltenham Town 1/1, Tranmere Rovers 8/11, Hartlepool United 10/11, Carlisle United 20/1, Mansfield Town 25/1.

Both leaders Burton Albion and second-placed Shrewsbury Town can guarantee promotion out of Sky Bet League 2 in the midweek round of games if they win and both Bury and Southend United fail to pick up three points.

Shrewsbury are in action against Bury on Tuesday night so have the perfect opportunity to take care of business before Burton host Carlisle United a day later. Southend host Newport County on Tuesday night knowing three points are needed to keep their slim automatic promotion hopes alive.

Wycombe are looking to stay ahead of Bury in the third and final automatic promotion place. The Chairboys host Exeter City on Tuesday night with a four-point advantage over Bury, who do though have a game in hand.

The battle for the final two play-off places is proving intense. Stevenage and Plymouth Argyle currently hold the advantage but Newport County, Luton Town and Exter will be looking to chase the duo down over the final furlong.

It looks like it’s a case of ‘two from three’ for the two Sky Bet League 2 relegation places. Cheltenham Town and Tranmere Rovers are the two sides currently filling the dreaded bottom two spots. Hartlepool United, though, are just one point ahead of Tranmere and three in front of Cheltenham.

The midweek action sees Cheltenham Town host Cambridge United, Tranmere Rovers meet Mansfield Town, who join Carlisle in still having some relegation concerns, and Hartlepool tackle Accrington Stanley.
