Youth and Development Squad in action this week

9 September 2014

Busy week ahead for Stags’ youngsters.

It’s going to be a busy week for Academy Director John Ramshaw, as our youngsters have two matches this week, whilst our newly-formed Development Squad are also in action.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 10 September), our youngsters travel to Northamptonshire to open their Football Conference Youth Alliance (Midland Division) season against FootballCV Reds.

Our young guns finished as runners-up in the division last term and will be eager to get off to a winning start against opponents who are expected to do well.

The match will be played at Steel Park (Corby Town FC), NN17 2FB. Kick-Off is at 2.00pm.

On Thursday (11 September), our newly-formed Development Squad continue their H-K-L North Midlands League campaign with a tricky-looking tie against Buxton.

Our Development Squad were in superb form in their last outing as they mercilessly tore apart Matlock Town to win 5-0, with goals coming through Joe Fitzpatrick, George Holloway, Luke Thomas, Ollie Roome and Elliot Holmes.

The match will be played at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium, Clipstone. Kick-Off is at 7.45pm.

Finally, a busy week concludes on Saturday morning when we lock horns with local rivals Lincoln City in the Football League Youth Alliance (North-East Division).

The match will again be played at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium, Clipstone. Kick-Off is at 11.00am.
