Ladies eliminated from League Cup after 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town.
Our ladies team are out of the FA Women’s Premier League Cup, as they suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of a clinical Ipswich Town at Kirklington Road.Goals by Ellie Rossiter and Chantelle Keevil put Ipswich into a commanding 2-0 lead by the hour mark, but the Stagettes rallied and got back on level terms thanks to strikes by Lucy Webster and skipper Stacey Bridge.
With extra-time looming, both teams pressed forward and Becky Braithwaite almost won it for our ladies, but she was denied by the woodwork.
Ipswich then booked their place in Round Three with just eight minutes remaining, when Molly Hall netted what proved to be the all-important winner.
The Stagettes will be hoping for better luck next weekend when they meet Underwood Villa in the First Round of the Nottinghamshire Women’s County Cup.
