Goals by Webster and Douglas not enough to beat the Millers.
Our ladies team were held to a 2-2 draw by Rotherham United Ladies at One Call Stadium last night, despite leading twice and dominating for long period
Â
In an entertaining first half, Lucy Webster’s early strike was cancelled out by an effort from Natalie Shaw before the interval.
Â
The Stagettes re-took the lead thanks to the ever-impressive Jemma Douglas, but table-topping Rotherham fought back and earned a share of the spoils as Amy Pollock lifted a shot over ‘keeper Emma Gascoyne with 20 minutes remaining.
Â
The result means that our ladies stretch their unbeaten streak to four matches, though there will be a sense of frustration that they were unable to make any ground on the league leaders, who remain nine points above them in the table.
Â
The Stagettes’ next match is on Sunday (05 October) when they make the journey to FC Reedswood.
