Top Premier League team set to visit One Call Stadium in pre-season.
We are delighted to announce that Premier League giants Aston Villa will visit One Call Stadium this summer for a prestigious pre-season friendly match.
The former European Cup winners, who boast many international stars, are set to make the trip to North Nottinghamshire on Thursday 17 July (7.45pm).
Under the stewardship of Paul Lambert, Villa achieved a highly-respectable 15th position finish in the Premier League last term – beating Chelsea, Arsenal and champions Manchester City, during the course of the season.
Established internationals who may feature in this exciting pre-season fixture include Shay Given (Republic of Ireland), Christian Benteke (Belgium), Ron Vlaar (Netherlands) and Gabriel Agbonlahor (England), amongst others.
Operations Director, Tina Broughton, said: “We are delighted to announce this pre-season friendly against one of the most prestigious clubs in English football.
“Aston Villa are former European Cup winners and have been ever-present members of the Premier League since it’s formation in 1992, so for us to be hosting them is a real honour.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to the fixture ahead of what we hope will be a successful campaign for us in Sky Bet League Two.”
