Mansfield Town’s first pre-season friendly at One Call Stadium will be against Notts County.
Our preparations for the 2014/15 campaign are gathering pace and we are pleased to announce that we have added another pre-season friendly to our schedule.
We can reveal that local rivals Notts County will be our first visitors to One Call Stadium this summer, having agreed to play us on Saturday 12 July (3.00pm).
This exciting ‘derby’ clash will represent the first opportunity for supporters to see our new summer signings in action on home soil ahead of the new campaign.
It will also be the first meeting between the two teams since a friendly fixture in July 2011, which saw Notts County emerge as 2-1 winners.
On that occasion, Paul Connor fired us ahead after Adam Smith had seen an earlier spot-kick saved, but goals by Neal Bishop and Hamza Bencherif turned the tie in the favour of the Magpies.
