Clucas achieves FA Cup accolade

18 May 2014

Youngster finishes as this season’s joint-top scorer in the FA Cup with five goals.

This season’s FA Cup has produced many remarkable moments and it is one which will be remembered by forward Sam Clucas forever.

The 23-year-old finished as joint-top scorer in the competition with five goals, alongside Preston North End’s Joey Garner and Peterborough United’s Britt Assombalonga.

Clucas struck four goals in a blistering 17-minute spell during our 8-1 thrashing of St Albans City in Round One, before finding the target with a free-kick in our 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic in Round Two.

His four goals in our First Round victory at St Albans also earned him the prestigious ‘Player of the Round’ accolade.

As a result, the youngster was a guest of competition sponsors Budweiser at Wembley Stadium for yesterday’s FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Hull City, which the Gunners won 3-2.

A big congratulations from everyone at One Call Stadium goes to Sam on his achievement in the competition this season.
