Stagettes set for Women's Premier League

1 July 2014

Ladies team to compete in newly-formed league in 2014/15.

Our ladies team are pleased to announce they will be playing in The FA Women’s Premier League as of the 2014/15 campaign.

The new FA WPL 72-club league incorporates the former WPL and Combinations Leagues. It will be formed of six regional divisions, two Premier and four Divisions 1s, and the season will begin on Sunday 24 August.

The FA will provide central administrative support to The FA WPL around fixtures and player registration and is recruiting for a full-time league officer. The new league will receive an annual grant of £90,000 accessed by a league development plan.

The Stagettes' Director of Football Allan Woodfield said “this a major step forward for the women’s game. A change was needed and the FA have done just that they have not only found away to progress and develop but have also planned to bring the WSL closer which is our clubs goal”

With this exciting news there will also be a reserve team entered into the section.
