Our youth team remain six points clear at the top of the FCYA (Midland Division) following a 1-1 draw with title-rivals Ilkeston this afternoon.
The visitors, who knocked us out of the FCYA League Cup just nine days ago, led thanks to Harry Williams’ strike midway through the first period.
However, we forced an equaliser on the half-hour mark as Jack Oldham put through his own net, following a left-wing cross by Conor Green (pictured above).
After the re-start, we could have snatched all three points as Levi Walker had an attempt cleared off the line, but the draw extends our unbeaten streak in the league to 10 matches.
Team: Fell, Walker, Brownlie (J.Jones), Asare, Hempshall, Coupe, Green, M.Jones, Simpson, Hemagou (Thompson), Flint.
Meanwhile, tomorrow night’s H-K-L North Midlands League Cup Second Round tie away at Handsworth has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
A new date will be announced in due course.
