Our youngsters were consigned to a 4-0 defeat in their penultimate pre-season encounter away to Evo-Stik Premier Division Grantham Town this afternoon.The much-more experienced Gingerbreads took the lead midway through the first half when Paul Grimes hammered the ball into the net from close-range.
Jordan Hempenstall then struck either side of half-time to put the hosts in a commanding position, before Grimes made it 4-0 with a 25-yard free-kick on 66 minutes.
Our youngsters, who play arch-rivals Chesterfield in their Football League Youth Alliance season-opener next weekend, will be hoping to record a victory in their final pre-season clash at West Bridgford on Monday.
