Preview: Dag & Red vs Mansfield

22 August 2014

Everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture away to Dagenham & Redbridge...

TEAM NEWS

Striker Liam Hearn is the only player who is definitely ruled out of this clash for Mansfield Town.

The 28-year-old, who joined the club from Grimsby Town in the summer, underwent a knee cartilage operation yesterday and is expected to be sidelined until Christmas.

RECENT FORM

The Stags go into this match having won their last two matches.

Adam Murray’s late strike earned Paul Cox’s team a 2-1 victory over Oxford United last Saturday, before Chris Clements scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over Newport County on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dagenham & Redbridge also registered their first points of the campaign in midweek – winning 2-0 up at troubled Hartlepool United thanks to goals from Luke Howell and Abu Ogogo.

The Stags are currently 9th in the Sky Bet League Two table, whilst Dagenham & Redbridge are in 18th spot.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Our team took four points from two meetings with Dagenham & Redbridge last season.

Sam Clucas, Jamie McGuire and Matt Rhead were on the score-sheet in a 3-0 win at One Call Stadium in August, before the reverse fixture in March finished goalless.

The East Londoners’ last win over Mansfield Town was on the final day of the 2007/08 season. Ben Strevens and Paul Benson as Dagenham & Redbridge won 2-0 on home soil.

Our full record against the Daggers is as follows: Won 1, Drew 1, Lost 2.
