Players support Movember

19 November 2013

Four members of our first team squad are resting their razor blades this month, in an effort to raise awareness about men’s health.

During November, men are encouraged to grow moustaches to raise money for charities, which support people diagnosed with prostate or testicular cancer.

Lee Beevers, along with Ollie Palmer, Chris Clements and Ben Hutchinson, have all pledged their support towards the ‘Movember’ movement.

The support for ‘Movember’ follows on from last year, when Hutchinson, Beevers, Louis Briscoe, Lee Stevenson and boss Paul Cox, all participated in the movement.

“We’re trying to raise as much awareness for men’s health as possible,” said full-back Beevers.

“We haven’t set ourselves any targets [in terms of what we want to raise], but it would be nice to raise as much as possible for a worthwhile cause.

“Movember is something which has been publicised quite a lot over the last couple of years, and it’s something I like to support and get involved with.”

He added: “If anyone can spare any extra cash to help raise the awareness of such a good cause, then it would be much appreciated by all of us.”

Our lads have so far raised over £150. If you want to support them during ‘Movember’, you can donate online by visiting our team page at uk.movember.com/team/1335617.

Alternatively, you can donate to each of our players individually.
