Preview: Chester vs Stags

16 July 2013

Boss Paul Cox has confirmed that a number of trialists are set to feature in tonight’s pre-season clash at Conference Premier side Chester (k/o 7.30pm).

Those who are to get a run-out at the Exacta Stadium include winger Nathan Arnold.

“They’ll be a number of trialists all of whom have good pedigrees and Football League experience, and we want to make sure that we have a good luck at them,” said Cox.

Our side will be hoping to record their first win of their pre-season campaign, following recent defeats to Worksop Town and Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Chester began their pre-season with a comfortable 3-0 success at Heswall on Friday with Ben Mills and Craig Mahon amongst the scorers.

LAST MEETING

On our last trip to the Exacta Stadium in August 2009, we recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win thanks to an early strike from Kyle Perry.

Striker Jake Speight had a goal disallowed during a match which was watched by 1,734, whilst Alan Marriott and Louis Briscoe also featured.

However, this result was annulled from the record books due to Chester’s demise midway through the 2009/10 campaign.
