Striker Matt Green is eager to help us continue our excellent recent away form when we travel to Haig Avenue to face mid-table Southport on tomorrow (kick-off 3.00pm).
The 26-year-old struck a memorable goal in our FA Cup Third Round tie with Liverpool nearly a fortnight ago and was again on target in our midweek victory over Stockport County at Edgeley Park.
āItāll be a tough game at Southport and it isnāt a nice place to go,ā said Green.
Lee Stevenson & Matt Green are speaking to Jason Harrison at yesterday morning's press conference.
āSometimes itās difficult to play against them, but hopefully after our result [against Stockport County] on Tuesday, we can go there and turn them over.
āThe victory [at Stockport] will certainly give us a lot of confidence and hopefully it can be a turning point for us. But we donāt really mind how we get points on the table, so long as we keep doing it.ā
Despite being the subject of intense transfer speculation since his goal against Liverpool, the former Oxford United star has admitted that he is currently enjoying the best time of his career.
He declared: āIām not really interested in anything other than scoring goals for Mansfield Town. To get them in any manner that I can is my job.
āThereāll always be speculation [about my future], but right now Iām enjoying the best time of my career at Mansfield Town and long may it continue.ā
