Manager Paul Cox was today ‘much closer’ to strengthening his playing squad.
The boss stated his desire to bolster his squad only last week and admits he is now even nearer to making signings.
Speaking at this morning’s press meeting, Cox said: “I’ve made a lot of phone calls over the weekend but a few finer details need to be ironed out with one or two players before we can bring one or two in.

“We have to be respectful of the players we have though. We have good players here.
“I want to bring players in of a good mindset and who are hungry to get promoted,” he added.
Meanwhile, midfielder Gary Roberts looks set to sign for Maltese Premier League club Floriana until the end of the season. Both Stags and the Southern Europe outfit are awaiting international clearance before the move can be completed.
